Solar thermal collector management unit
Equipped with 3 digital temperature sensors. The temperature sensors can be wired with more than 100m of wire. Four relays (pump, 3 ways valve, freeze and overheat). One single button configuration.
Dimensions: 107mm x 90mm x 70mm Clickable on a DIN rail DescriptionThe SoFHMU2E is a device allowing to manage a water heater solar panel equipment. One temperature sensor is located in the water solar panel and two other temperature sensors are located in the water tank. The device manages 4 relays: 1) One pump control relay. This relay is activited when the difference between the panel temperature and the water tank temperature reaches a menu defined value. 2) One 3 ways valve control relay. This relay is activited when the water tank top exchanger temperature reaches a menu defined value. 3) One freeze alarm relay. This relay is activited when the panel water temperature is under a menu defined value. 4) One overheat alarm relay. This relay is activited when the panel water temperature is over a menu defined value.
Temperature measurementIn using temperature sensors, only the temperature information will be available. The measurement of temperature is done with digital sensors communicating with the SoFHMU2E. Due to the digital nature of the dialog between the sensor and the SoFHMU2E, the communication is very robust. The precision does not depent on the wires length neither on the connections. Compatible with all our program temperature sensors (based on DS18B20 or on Pt1000). The sensors are connected to the SoFHMU2E by screw connectors.
The ouput relaysThe SoFHMU has 4 relay outputs (230V/3A). 1) The first relay is the pump command. This relay is activited when the difference between the panel temperature and the water tank temperature reaches a menu defined value. This temperature difference (default 8°C) and the hysteresis (default ±2°C) are definable by menu. 2) The second relay is the 3 ways valve command. This relay is activited when the water tank top exchanger is abovea menu defined value. This temperature (default 75°C) and the hysteresis (default ±2°C) are definable by menu. 3) The third relay is the freeze alarm. This relay is activited when the panel water temperature is under a menu defined value. This temperature (default -18°C) and the hysteresis (default ±2°C) are definable by menu. 3) The fourth relay is the overheat alarm. This relay is activited when the panel water temperature is over a menu defined value. This temperature (default -110°C) and the hysteresis (default ±5°C) are definable by menu. Every output has :
The 3 ways valve relay has an additional NC point with a spark suppression circuit. The relays' contacts are connected to the SoFHMU2E by screw connectors.
The menusA simple one button menu concept allows to parameter the SoFHMU2E. The available menus are:
The choice of one or another menu is done with the button: a) left rotation: previus menu or value decrease, b) right rotation: next menu or value increase, c) pression on the bouton <0,5s: OK d) pression on the bouton >0,5s: ESC The menu is automatically left after 45 secondes of inactivity on bouton.
The displayThe SoFHMU2E is equiped with a 16 characters, 2 lines LCD displaying by default both the solar panel and the water tank temperatures in tenth of Celcius degrees (updated every second) as well as the alarms states (0 or 1) and an animation giving the pump state. It also displays the sensors defaults (no sensor, sensor shorted, crc error, etc). The backlight is on at power up and during any menu action. It is automatically switched off after 60s of inactivity on the button.
Power supply: The SoFHMU is powered by a 8 to 35V DC voltage.
