OctoGSM3G is a unit allowing the control of 2 units or installations by SMS messages. OctoGSM3G also allows to receive 2 alarms by the way of SMS messages on your cellular phone. OctoGSM3G is easy to configure using a PC and a specific software running under Windows.
General descriptionThe OctoGSM3G is a device allowing to control 2 relay outputs and to manage 6 alarm criterias by SMS. The OctoGSM3G-Swisscom is equiped with a prepaid Swisscom SIM card avoiding to have to subscribe a contract. The OctoGSM3G-Sunrise-Prepaid is equiped with a Sunrise prepaid SIM card avoiding to have to subscribe a contract. The OctoGSM3G-Sunrise-Postpaid is equiped with a Sunrise Postpaid card (contract). The OctoGSM3G-SFR is equiped with a SFR card (contract). The OctoGSM3G-Free is equiped with a Free card (contract). The OctoGSM3G is powered by an external 12V to 35V DC power supply. The OctoGSM3G includes a LiIon battery allowing to continue to run during at least 3 hours ; even if the external power supply is down. Every received message is acknowledge as long as we use a cellular phone to send the SMS (If the SMS comes from internet, no acknowledge SMS will be sent). The 4 buttons on the OctoGSM3G can be enabled or disabled by a SMS. The status of the equipment can be known at every moment by SMS interrogation. The OctoGSM3G stores in the non volatile memory of the SIM card all the messages intended to be sent as well as the device parameters.
The memory for 6 numbers for the alarms The OctoGSM3G can manage up to 6 cellular phone numbers for sending the pre-loaded SMS. Every alarm message must be sent to at least one destination but maximum at 6 of the 6 possible destinations.
The power supply The OctoGSM3G is powered by an external 12V to 35V DC power supply.
The alarms criteriasThe OctoGSM3G has 2 external contacts criterias which can :
The multilingual configuration software of the OctoGSM3GI allows to delay the alarm activation (one or both) from 1s to 59 minutes 59 seconds.
The internal alarms criteriasIn addition to the 2 alarms inputs, the OctoGSM3G has 6 or 7 internal alarms criterias : The two alarms available on both models are: 1° One Power Fail alarm activated when the external power supply fails. 2° One Low Bat alarm activated when the internal battery is not enough charged. 3° One SHUTDOWN alarm activated when the OctoGSM3G shuts down due to a too low level of the battery charge state. 4° One attention alarm is automatically sent after 6 months of SMS inactivity (prepaid card). 5° One Temperature alarm is activated when the measured temperature comes below a limit configured by software. 6° One Humidity alarm is activated when the measured humidity goes above a limit configured by software. The alarms 5 and 6 need an optional sensor: - temperature only sensor TS05017 if only the alarm 4 is needed. - temperature and humidity sensor HS05045 if both alarms 4 and 5 are needed. 7° One Low Units alarm activated when the SIM card (prepaid card) has less than 10 CHF remaining. WARNING: Due to the 2G to 3G modification, only the Swisscom operator gives this information. As far as now, for the Sunrise and Orange operators, le owner must check his remaining credit with the operator.
The outputsThe OctoGSM3G provides 2 commutating relay outputs which can be controlled either by SMS or by the OUT buttons of the OctoGSM3G. Every output has :
The outputs can also generate ON or OFF pulses ( 1s à 999s) but only by SMS
The configuration softwareThe configuration software of the OctoGSM3G allows to read all the OctoGSM3G parameters, to modify them and to write the new parameters into the OctoGSM3G.
